JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com- Daily Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Ahmad Ali emphasized that there was nothing wrong with the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) traveling around Indonesia.
Ali admitted that he was surprised by those who questioned Jokowi’s influence on PSI in 2029, considering his status as no longer President.
“Pak Jokowi also never thought or was arrogant, or then said he still had influence in society,” said Ali when contacted by Kompas.com, Thursday (28/5/2026).
“What is the problem for them if Pak Jokowi goes around? Whether there are benefits for PSI or not, why is it up for debate?”他继续说道。

According to Ali, what was wrong was when Jokowi asked his son, namely Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, for travel money.
Ali emphasized that when Jokowi wanted to travel around Indonesia, it was solely because of his love for the people.
“Or is it wrong that Pak Jokowi goes around? Or is there a rule that he violates? Ethics or morals? What’s wrong is that he then goes around using APBN funds asking Gibran for travel money. Well, that’s wrong,” said Ali.
“But he goes around wanting to make it… Whether using his personal money or then using any joint venture, wherever the source comes from, that is his right which we also have to respect,” he continued.

Therefore, Ali said that he had never thought about whether Jokowi could benefit PSI or not.
Moreover, at the PSI National Working Meeting in January 2026, Jokowi stated that he was ready to go all out to travel around Indonesia for PSI.
“Of course anyone who wants to come and help raise PSI, we will definitely be happy to accept it. Whether the assistance has an impact or not, that’s also not a reason for us to refuse, ‘oh, don’t help us, because it won’t be profitable for us’. That’s not the case either,” added Ali.

Previously, Esa Unggul University political communications observer M Jamiluddin Ritonga assessed that the plan of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), to travel around Indonesia again would not easily produce a big political impact like when Jokowi was still head of state.
According to Jamiluddin, Jokowi’s current political position is different from when he was still president, because the level of public trust is considered to have decreased.
贾米鲁丁还认为,佐科现在的表现不如他担任总统时那么伟大。
贾米鲁丁在周三(2026 年 5 月 27 日)的声明中表示:“佐科威目前不再是赞助人,而是一个有争议的人物。”
