When the price indicator for a commodity is fixed, consumer cash movements will not be reactive to economic market shocks.
“Price certainty is part of sound financial planning. When the price of a product can be predicted, consumers and small businesses can allocate their budgets in a more planned manner,” said Prita, quoted by Kompas.com, Thursday (4/6/2026).

Annisa manages a home business called BJM Ice Cream which generates an average daily turnover of IDR 250,000.
This micro-scale business, which targets the school children and night market visitors, relies on high sales volumes with thin profit margins.
When the price of supporting sales materials such as plastic packaging and raw materials increases, Annisa faces a dead end in increasing product selling prices linearly.
The limited purchasing power of school child consumers means that selling price adjustments risk drastically reducing sales volumes.
