Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian National Zakat Amil Agency (Baznas) has invited the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of Kaur Regency, Bengkulu, to strengthen zakat management regulations in the region in order to optimize the potential of zakat so that it has a wider impact on community welfare. Head of Baznas RI for Organizational, Institutional and Regional Development, Saidah Sakwan, in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday, said that zakat management in Kaur Regency still has a lot of room for development. “The DPRD is the owner of regional regulations and policies. Strengthening Baznas through regional regulations and allocation of grant funds is a very strategic step. The regional government’s right hand has the APBD and the left hand must have baitulmal, namely Baznas. So Baznas must be supported,” he said.赛义达强调,天课可以成为帮助有需要的人以及支持扶贫的重要工具。 Overall, he revealed that the zakat potential in Kaur Regency is estimated at IDR 71 billion, which comes from Muslim community zakat, agricultural zakat, livestock zakat, cash zakat, and income zakat. Saidah强调,Baznas RI已准备好为Kaur Regency DPRD提供全力支持,以加强该地区的监管。 “I leave one important thing, please pay attention to the people of Kaur Regency. There are still many mustahik in Kaur whose houses are unfit to live in, as well as high-achieving children who are at risk of dropping out of school or failing at college due to financial constraints,” he said. Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission III DPRD Kaur Ramadi Regency Agustin welcomed the collaboration with Baznas RI in efforts to improve zakat management in his region.
